Societeit SEXYLAND is a conceptual club on the NDSM in Amsterdam North. For 365 days it has a different owner, every day. The owner of the day decides what kind of club they want it to be, which can vary from art exhibitions to sporting events, from gangster rap nights to dinners in stroboscopic light.
SEXYLAND is a tabula rasa that can be written in any way possible. We want to highlight every unknown corner of Amsterdam, to broadcast the huge diversity this city has to offer. Every day is a new day at SEXYLAND. Feel welcome.
We are not a dogmatic institute, in the sense that we won’t bring you a complete 365 package to absorb. We believe in the magic that can happen when meeting someone in SEXYLAND by accident, and then coming up with a brilliant idea. There will always be space to realize those gems.

It is good to know that SEXYLAND is an art project and a conceptual club with room for experiments; a place where all kinds of ideas can get a podium. The requirement for organising something at SEXYLAND is that behind every program, event, party or exhibition, there must be an idea/concept/need that adds something to the cultural life in Amsterdam. In reviewing the proposals, we look at the concept, guts, diversity and reflection of the city; a stage/place for everyone, established or just started. Still, we must remain sharp and critical about the quality in order to preserve the concept and strength of the SEXYLAND project. Give as much information as possible beforehand; what do you want to organise, why, with whom, for whom etc. Also take into account that our weekend days (Friday and Saturday) are our most popular days, and as a non-profit, also the most important to our survival, so we are a bit stricter about those days.
