Venue Pipeline House
Piet Hein Eek designed the interior of the Leidinghuis (Pipeline House), with its bright orange dining table and matching candelabra downstairs, kitchenette and library at mezzanine level and bathroom in the vaulted arch. The bedroom lies high beneath the timber roof rafters. For a meeting or workshop there is room for 12 people, for informal discussions or drinks it can hold up to 40 people.
Building History
The Leidinghuis consists of two semi-circular extensions to the Gashouder. It was built in 1902 to house the valves controlling the gas inlet and outlet. The valves are still there to this day. The antique tiling, timber rafters and vaulted arches give this small building great character. The Leidinghuis stood unused for many years. It was recently fully restored, preserving all the original features, to give the building the attention it deserves.
