Here's some general information about how it works at SEXYLAND:
It's good to know that SEXYLAND is an art project, a conceptual club with room for experimentation; a place where all kinds of ideas can get a stage. A condition of filling a period at SEXYLAND is that behind every program, event, party or exhibition there must be an idea / concept / need that adds something to the cultural life in Amsterdam.
That is why we would first like to hear what you want to organize. Please provide as much information as possible! What do you want to organize, why, with whom, for whom, etc. It is also good to take into account that during weekend days it is important to attract as many people as possible; we are a non-profit project and can survive on the bar income from the weekend. So we are a little stricter on those days.
If your proposal fits the SEXYLAND concept, you will become a member of the association, which costs 80 euros for a day. You will receive a key ring with which you can go to all other events for free for the rest of the year. Furthermore, as the owner of SEXYLAND you can also use everything we have for free: DJ equipment, PA system, lights, stage parts, chairs, tables, exhibition walls, etc. We just don't have a backline, bands often take those themselves along. You can start building from 12:00, there will be someone from SEXYLAND to help you with that. On weekdays we close at 01:00 at the latest and at 03:00 on weekends.
All visitors pay € 2.50 entrance for SEXYLAND, this is a weekmembership (so they can also visit other events with us for a week). You are free to charge an entrance fee on top of that, this income is then yours. The bar is run by us.
Keep in mind, that we are now a WORLD. We have many great and exciting partners. Which we live in harmony with. As the owner of SEXYLAND you can organiser/program our space (the darkblue room with the pink bar).
FROM COUNTRY TO WORLD TO SUPER WORLD
SEXYLAND World is a cultural clubhouse for creative (night)life with continuous programming, located at Noordwal 1 in Amsterdam. A place where free space and shared ownership have been raised to a higher level because different cultural, creative and social parties have their own space under the same roof.
FROM SOCIETY SEXYLAND TO SEXYLAND WORLD
SEXYLAND World originated from Society SEXYLAND: a space for artists and other creative minds to organize freely what they want. From the need to allow audiences, ages, genres, subcultures and coexistence, Sociëteit SEXYLAND is evolving into SEXYLAND World. With a different 'owner' every day, Sociëteit SEXYLAND has provided for the last 3 years in an urgent need of the city: a stage for everyone, established and starting. Where experimentation and failure and the process rather than the result come first. The ultimate goal is to connect makers and visitors from the multicolored collection that Amsterdam has to offer to experiment, make, do and be who you are.

SUPER SEXYLAND WORLD
In three years, Super SEXYLAND World will open in a new location; large enough to give space to all partners. The main drivers are the stimulation of free space, experiment, creativity, inclusiveness and a new way of working together to achieve this. A cooperative model in which different disciplines go together and are equals day and night.

The requirement for organising something at SEXYLAND is that behind every program, event, party or exhibition, there must be an idea/concept/need that adds something to the cultural life in Amsterdam. In reviewing the proposals, we look at the concept, guts, diversity and reflection of the city; a stage/place for everyone, established or just started. Still, we must remain sharp and critical about the quality in order to preserve the concept and strength of the SEXYLAND project. Give as much information as possible beforehand; what do you want to organise, why, with whom, for whom etc. Also take into account that our weekend days (Friday and Saturday) are our most popular days, and as a non-profit, also the most important to our survival, so we are a bit stricter about those days.
